I have have started a new job as a scenic artist for weber-prianti scenic in wilmington, and i gotta say, i am digging it.  working that large scale again was a little daunting at first, but i got the hang of it again pretty quickly.  we are working on the stage legs for the angels in america opera... i dont know where or when it opens,  still have to find that out.  also, WHYY came to do a piece on the company, i think they got quite a bit of footage of me painting... so that should be neat to see... think it airs on the 17th... but here are some pics of the stage legs we are working on... fun stuff and actually not too different from the stuff i normally do... will publish the rest of the pics as soon as they are done...

what started off as being just some nonspecific inkwash sketch of an old fella appears to have turned to an unconscious desire to draw gene hackman from young frankenstein... i didn't catch it, my brother did... odder still i had all but forgotten he was even in that movie... hmm...

GOT A BLOG!

woohoo!  gimbutas illustration has a blog!  now... what am i really going to do with it...hmm, well, i suppose my pent up opinions will finally have a home, but why do i suddenly feel speechless?  odd...
